1st March National Energy Saving Day "M'illumino di meno"

Also this year, IC S. Pellico Vedano Olona takes part in the national initiative "M'illumino di Meno" promoted by Caterpillar and Radio 2, to invite all citizens to save energy and adopt sustainable behaviours for a circular economy.

Today all our students and community are invited to switch off all electric devices or use them as less as possible, avoid using the mobile phone at least from 6pm to 8pm, have dinner at candlelight (romantic!!) and, if possible, avoid wasting food by preparing meals using leftovers.

Our colleague Milena Monfardini prepared with her students a very artistic "M'illumino di Meno" corner, with drawings showing a better world inside light bulbs.

Some other students have worked in the kitchen, cooking a delicious meal with rice and leftovers (carrots, cheese and potatoes), to understand how important it is NOT to waste food.

These are just some examples to show that it is easy to behave in a sustainable way to save our world...💚💚💚💚💚🌲🌳🌴🌺🌻🌼🌷🌸🌹🌍🌎🌏🌈

A great action a superb initiative took place in our High school last Thursday.
People responsible for the "green key "
In big companies and hotels inform the children about recycle ecological habits and what we can do in order to become a " green school".
The children paid attention with great enthusiasm and at the end they share leaflets about our school actions in the village and also the drivers.
At the end the children cleaned and coloured the bus station.......

Trees and Plants in "Fara Forni" and "Parco Spech" parks in Vedano Olona

In cooperation with the Municipality of Vedano, IC Silvio Pellico Primary and Secondary school students have created cards using ppt to explain the main characteristics of some of the trees of our parks in Vedano, "Fara Forni " and "Spech ". All digital cards have been loaded on a dedicated website, and soon each tree in the park will be provided with a QR code leading to the respective card and explanation, so that both citizens of Vedano and visitors will be able to learn more about the trees around them simply using their smart phone!! 
Thanks to our Municipality, to  Mrs.Giorgia Adamoli Councilor for the Environment and to our students and teachers who did a great and lasting job!!!
